Meet Apurva from Quirk It Up Designs. Apurva lives in Bangkok, Thailand and started making in Aug 2020. She is inspired by architecture and nature. Her hobbies include dancing, sketching and claying. She enjoys watching Korean drama while creating and absolutely loves it.
Quirk It Up Designs specializes in fun and unique earrings that are made mostly from polymer clay. Apurva happily accepts custom orders and you can find her website linked on her IG page.
Here are some words from Apurva :
-What made you want to start creating?-
“I had been working back in Mumbai comfortably. Never thought of myself as a workaholic but after shifting to a completely new place with no known souls there, I realized how much I needed to work. So there was a lot of frustration of Covid leading to job hiring freeze, and art was the only outlet I had. Once I started making it there was no stop to it. Being a crazy accessories freak myself I wanted to create more and more.”
-Would you like to share any family info? Pets?-
“No pets yet.”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“This would be very difficult but I am a chandelier kinda person. Anything with lots of layers is my kind of accessory.”
-What makes your shop unique? What is your specialty?-
“Variety. I think it’s my pro and my con. I have to create different things. Doing more colors in one piece is a possibility but only on custom orders. So if statement pieces and tons of variety is your thing, I might fit in it.”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“Since my college days I have been someone who would dress up okay-ish but always accessorized with Quirky stuff. And that made me more myself. So I wanted to make Quirky stuff that will bring joy to the people and to the outfits. And that’s how I came to Quirk it up.”
